πŸ“– Bible Verse
β€œLet your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” β€” Matthew 5:16

πŸ•ŠοΈ Story / Reflection

Have you ever been in a very dark room? When someone turns on a light, everything changes. The light helps people see where they are going and makes the room feel safer and brighter.

Jesus says that His followers are like lights in the world. This does not mean we glow like a light bulb. It means our words, actions, attitudes, and choices should help others see God's goodness.

Every day, God gives us opportunities to shine. We shine when we:

  • Tell the truth
  • Show kindness
  • Help others
  • Obey our parents and teachers
  • Forgive people
  • Include those who feel left out
  • Pray for others
  • Stand up for what is right

People are always watching how we live. When they see kindness instead of meanness, honesty instead of lying, and love instead of selfishness, they begin to see the light of Jesus shining through us.

A light does not hide itself. It shines wherever it goes. Whether you are at home, at school, at church, on the playground, or with your friends, God wants you to shine brightly for Him.

You may think your actions are small, but even a small light can brighten a dark place.

When you live God's way, you become a light that points people to Jesus.

πŸ’‘ Lesson

I can shine the light of Jesus through my words, choices, and actions every day.

πŸ™ Prayer

Dear God, Thank You for making me Your child. Help me to shine Your light wherever I go. Teach me to be kind, honest, loving, and helpful. Let others see Jesus through the way I live. May my life bring glory to You. Amen.

🎨 Activity (Ages 3–6)"Shine Your Light" Craft

Cut out a large light bulb or star shape. Inside it, draw or write ways to shine for Jesus:

  • Be kind
  • Share
  • Pray
  • Help others
  • Tell the truth

Display the lights around the room. Say together: "I can shine for Jesus!"

✏️ Reflection (Ages 7–9)

Discuss:

  1. What does it mean to be a light?
  2. How can your actions help others see Jesus?
  3. Where can you shine your light every day?
  4. What are some ways you can brighten someone else's day?

πŸ•―οΈ Challenge (Ages 10–12)Light Up Your World Challenge

This week:

  • Do one act of kindness every day
  • Encourage someone who feels discouraged
  • Tell the truth even when it is difficult
  • Look for opportunities to help without being asked

At the end of each day, ask yourself: "Did my actions help others see Jesus today?"

🌿 Sit with Jesus Moment

Sit quietly and imagine holding a small candle. Take a slow breath. Now softly say: "Jesus, help me shine Your light." Pause quietly for a moment. Think about the places you will go this weekβ€”your home, school, church, neighbourhood, and wherever you spend time.

Ask Jesus: "How can I shine for You in these places?" Listen quietly and imagine Jesus lighting a bright flame in your heart. See that light growing stronger as you choose kindness, honesty, obedience, and love.

Rest peacefully, knowing that wherever you go, Jesus can shine through you and brighten the lives of others.
