🕊️ Story / Reflection
When the prophet Samuel was sent to choose a new king for Israel, he thought the strongest and tallest son of Jesse would surely be God's choice.
One by one, Jesse's older sons stood before Samuel. They looked strong, handsome, and important. But God said no.
Then David was called from the fields where he was taking care of sheep.
David was the youngest son and did not look like a king. Yet God chose David. Why?
Because God saw something others could not see.
God looked at David's heart. God saw that David loved Him, trusted Him, and wanted to obey Him.
People often notice what is on the outside—our clothes, appearance, talents, or achievements. But God cares most about what is happening inside our hearts.
Are we kind? Honest? Loving? Obedient?
Those are the things that matter most to God.
Every day, we can ask God to help us have hearts that please Him.
💡 Lesson
God cares more about my heart than my appearance.
🙏 Prayer
Dear God,
Thank You for loving me and seeing my heart.
Help me to be kind, honest, loving, and obedient.
Make my heart pleasing to You.
Help me become more like Jesus every day.
Amen.
