📖 Bible Verse
“But God shows His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

🕊️ Story / Reflection

Sometimes people need to be rescued.

A lifeguard rescues someone from deep water.

A firefighter rescues people from danger.

A parent rescues a child from getting hurt.

God had a rescue plan too.

People were separated from God because of sin. No one could fix the problem by themselves. So God sent Jesus.

Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life, died on the cross, and came alive again. He did all of this so we could be forgiven and be close to God.

God’s rescue plan was always about love.

Jesus is the One who rescues us from sin and brings us into God’s family.

💡 Lesson

God sent Jesus to rescue me because He loves me.

🙏 Prayer

Dear God,

Thank You for Your big rescue plan.

Thank You for sending Jesus to save me and forgive me.

Help me to trust You and remember how much You love me.

Amen.

🎨 Activity (Ages 3–6)

  • Cut strips of paper and make a paper chain.
  • On each strip, write words like: “Love,” “Jesus,” “Forgiveness,” “Hope,” and “Rescue.”
  • Hang the chain up as a reminder that God rescues us.

✏️ Reflection (Ages 7–9)

Write or Discuss:

  1. Why did people need rescuing?
  2. Who did God send to rescue us?
  3. How does it feel to know God had a plan to save you?

🕯️ Challenge (Ages 10–12)

Today, spend a few minutes thanking Jesus for:

  • Loving you
  • Forgiving you
  • Rescuing you
  • Bringing you close to God

You can write your thank-you prayer in a notebook.

🌿 Sit with Jesus Moment

Close your eyes and take a slow breath.

Imagine you are standing on one side of a big gap.

Then imagine Jesus building a bridge across it and holding out His hand to you.

Hear Him say:

“I came to bring you close to God.”

Sit quietly and thank Jesus for rescuing you.
