Good can come from painful situations

🕊️ Story / Reflection

Sometimes, things happen that make us feel sad, hurt, or confused.

We may not understand why something painful is happening.

When Jesus died on the cross, it was a very sad and painful moment. His friends were heartbroken. It seemed like everything was lost.

But that was not the end of the story.

Something amazing happened — Jesus rose again!

What looked like defeat became victory.

The cross led to something beautiful — salvation, forgiveness, and new life.

This shows us that God can bring good out of even the hardest situations.

Even when things don’t make sense, God is working behind the scenes for good.

💡 Lesson

God can bring something good out of difficult and painful situations.

🙏 Prayer

Dear God,

Sometimes I don’t understand hard things.

Help me to trust that You are working for good.

Thank You for turning the cross into victory.

Amen.

• Draw a sad face on one side of the paper.
• Draw a happy face on the other side.
• Draw a cross in the middle.

✏️ Reflection (Ages 7–9)

Write or Discuss:

1. What sad thing happened to Jesus?
2. What good came after that?
3. Can God help us when we feel sad or hurt?

🕯️ Challenge (Ages 10–12)

• Think of something difficult you have faced.
• Talk to God about it.
• Ask Him to help you trust that He can bring good from it.

🌿 Sit with Jesus Moment

Close your eyes and take a slow breath.

Imagine standing near the cross, feeling sad.

Now watch as the scene changes — the tomb is empty, and Jesus is alive.

Hear Him say:

“I bring good out of every situation.”

Sit quietly and rest in His hope.
