📖 Bible Verse
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5 (NIV)

🕊️ Story / Reflection
Sometimes life can feel dark.

You may feel sad, scared, or unsure.

Things may not go the way you hoped, and it can seem like the light is gone.

When Jesus died, it felt like darkness had won. The sky grew dark, and His friends felt hopeless.

But that darkness did not last. Jesus rose again!

The light came back, and hope was alive again.

This shows us something powerful — no situation is too dark for God.

God’s light is stronger than any darkness. His hope never ends.

Even when things feel difficult, we can remember that God is still working, and hope is still alive.

💡 Lesson

God’s light is stronger than darkness, and hope never dies.

🙏 Prayer

Dear God,

Thank You for being my light in dark times.

Help me to trust You when I feel afraid or sad.

Remind me that hope never dies because You are with me.

Amen.

  • Write: “God’s Light Shines!”

✏️ Reflection (Ages 7–9)

Write or Discuss:

  1. What does darkness sometimes feel like?
  2. How does God bring light into our lives?
  3. Why can we have hope even in hard times?

🕯️ Challenge (Ages 10–12)

  • Think of a situation that feels difficult.
  • Say: “God’s light is with me.”
  • Choose to believe that God is working, even if you cannot see it yet.

🌿 Sit with Jesus Moment

Close your eyes and take a slow breath.

Imagine sitting in a dark place.

Now see a small light appear… and grow brighter.

Jesus stands in the light, smiling. Hear Him say:

“I am your light.”

Sit quietly and feel His hope fill your heart.
