📖 Bible Verse
“Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.” — Luke 22:42 (NIV)

🕊️ Story / Reflection

Before Jesus went to the cross, He prayed in a garden called Garden of Gethsemane.Jesus knew that hard things were coming. He felt sad and afraid. He knew He would suffer.Jesus could have chosen comfort. He could have walked away. But instead, He chose love.Jesus obeyed God because He loved His Father, and He loved us too.Sometimes obeying God is hard for us too. We may have to tell the truth when it is difficult, forgive someone who hurt us, or do the right thing when others are not.But Jesus showed us that choosing God’s way is always best.Even when it is hard, we can trust God and obey Him.

💡 Lesson

Jesus chose love and obedience, even when it was hard.

🙏 Prayer

Dear Jesus,

Thank You for obeying God because You love us.

Help me to choose what is right, even when it is hard.

Give me courage to obey You every day.

Amen.

🎨 Activity (Ages 3–6)

  • Draw two paths on paper.
  • One path can say “Easy Way.”
  • The other path can say “God’s Way.”

Write or Discuss:

  1. Where did Jesus pray before He went to the cross?
  2. What did Jesus choose?
  3. Can you think of a time when doing the right thing was hard?

Today, do one thing you know is right, even if it is not easy.

You could:

  • Help without complaining
  • Obey quickly

Remember: love helps us obey God

🌿 Sit with Jesus Moment

Close your eyes and take a slow breath.

Imagine Jesus praying quietly in the garden at night.

See Him look up at God and say,
“Not my will, but Yours be done.”

Now ask Jesus to help you obey God too
