πŸ“– Bible Verse
β€œBe still, and know that I am God.” β€” Psalm 46:10

πŸ•ŠοΈ Story / Reflection

Prayer is not only about talking to God β€” it is also about listening.

Sometimes, after we pray, we quickly get up and move on. But God also wants to speak to our hearts.

God may not speak with a loud voice, but He can speak in gentle ways:

  • A quiet thought in your heart
  • A feeling of peace
  • A reminder to do something kind
  • A Bible verse that comes to your mind

When we stay still after praying, we give our hearts time to listen. Just like in a conversation, we talk… and then we listen.

God loves to speak to His children, and when we are quiet, we can learn to hear Him better.

πŸ’‘ Lesson

After I pray, I can be still and listen to God.

πŸ™ Prayer

Dear God,

Thank You for listening to me when I pray.

Help me to be still and listen to You too.

Teach me to hear Your voice in my heart.

Amen.

🎨 Activity (Ages 3–6)

  • Ask the child to sit quietly for a short time (10–20 seconds).
  • Place a hand on their heart and close their eyes.
  • Say: β€œWe are listening to God.”

Keep it simple and calm.

✏️ Reflection (Ages 7–9)

Ask:

  1. Why is it important to listen after we pray?
  2. What are some ways God can speak to us?
  3. How do you feel when you are quiet and still?

πŸ•―οΈ Challenge (Ages 10–12)

Today:

  • After you pray, stay quiet for 2–3 minutes.
  • Pay attention to your thoughts, feelings, or ideas.
  • Write down anything you feel God is putting in your heart.

🌿 Sit with Jesus Moment

Close your eyes and take a slow breath.

Imagine sitting quietly beside Jesus in a peaceful place. No talking… just sitting together.

Feel His presence and peace.

Whisper softly in your heart:

β€œI am listening, Lord.”

Rest quietly and listen.
