📖 Bible Verse
“If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land.” — Isaiah 1:19

🕊️ Story / Reflection

God does not only want us to obey—He wants us to obey with a willing heart. Sometimes people obey while complaining, frowning, or being upset inside.

But God loves cheerful obedience that comes from love and trust.

Jesus is the perfect example of willing obedience. He obeyed His Heavenly Father with love, humility, and joy.

A willing heart says:

  • “Yes, Lord.”
  • “I trust You.”
  • “I want to do what pleases You.”

When parents, teachers, or God’s Word instruct us to do what is right, we should obey quickly and gladly.

Obedience helps us grow in character and brings peace and blessing into our lives. God sees not only what we do, but also the attitude in our hearts while we do it.

Every time we obey willingly, we become more like Jesus.

💡 Lesson

God wants me to obey with a willing and joyful heart.

🙏 Prayer

Dear God,

Help me obey You with a happy and willing heart.

Teach me not to complain or resist when I should do what is right.

Help me become more like Jesus in my attitude and actions.

Amen.

🎨 Activity (Ages 3–6)“Happy Helper” Activity

Give children small, simple tasks:

  • Picking up toys
  • Arranging books
  • Sharing supplies

Encourage them to do each task with a smile.

Say together:“I obey with a happy heart!”

✏️ Reflection (Ages 7–9)

Discuss:

  1. What does it mean to have a willing heart?
  2. Why does God care about our attitude?
  3. What is the difference between cheerful obedience and complaining obedience?
  4. How can you obey happily at home or school?

🕯️ Challenge (Ages 10–12)Willing Heart Challenge

This week:

  • Obey quickly without complaining
  • Help someone cheerfully
  • Practice saying:
    “I will do it gladly.”

Before obeying, ask yourself: “Am I obeying with the right attitude?”

🌿 Sit with Jesus Moment

Sit quietly and place your hand over your heart.

Imagine Jesus smiling warmly at you.

Now softly say: “Jesus, help me obey You with a willing heart.”

Take a quiet moment and think about one area where you can obey more gladly this week.

Let your heart become peaceful as you remember that obedience is one way we show love to God.
