Sacrifice Is Part of Love

🕊️ Story / Reflection
Love is not just about kind words — it is also about what we are willing to give.
Sometimes, love means sharing your favourite toy.
Sometimes, it means helping someone even when you feel tired.
Sometimes, it means giving up what you want so someone else can be happy.
That is called sacrifice.
God showed us the greatest example of love. He gave His Son, Jesus, for us.
Jesus gave His life so we could be saved and be close to God.
That is what true love looks like — giving, even when it costs something.
We may not have to give something as big as Jesus did, but every day we can show love by putting others first.
When you choose kindness, sharing, helping, and forgiving, you are showing God’s kind of love.
Lesson
True love means giving and sometimes giving up something for others.
🙏 Prayer
Dear God,
Thank You for loving me so much.
Thank You for giving Jesus for me.
Help me to show love by sharing, helping, and putting others first.
Amen.
🎨 Activity (Ages 3–6)
- Give the child a small snack or toy.
- Ask them to share it with someone else.
- Afterwards, say: “That is love — you gave something to someone.”
✏️ Reflection (Ages 7–9)
Write or Discuss:
- What does sacrifice mean?
- What did God give because He loves us?
- Can you think of something you can give or share with someone?
🕯️ Challenge (Ages 10–12)
Today, choose one way to show sacrificial love:
- Share something you like
- Help someone without being asked
- Give up your turn for someone else
- Forgive someone
Notice how it feels to put others first.
🌿 Sit with Jesus Moment
Close your eyes and take a slow breath
.Imagine Jesus gently giving you a gift — His love.
Now imagine yourself giving love to someone else.
Hear Jesus say:
“Love others the way I love you.”
Sit quietly and let His love fill your heart.
