📖 Bible Verse
“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18

🕊️ Story / Reflection

It is easy to say, “I love you.”

But true love is not only shown through words—it is also shown through our actions.

Jesus showed love everywhere He went. He healed the sick, fed the hungry, comforted the sad, welcomed children, and helped people in need. His actions matched His words.

God wants us to do the same. Showing love through our actions can look like:

  • Helping someone who needs assistance
  • Sharing with others
  • Encouraging a friend
  • Including someone who feels left out
  • Obeying our parents
  • Being kind to our siblings
  • Praying for someone who is hurting

When we do loving things, people can see the love of Jesus through us.

Sometimes love requires effort. It may mean helping when we would rather play, sharing when we want to keep something for ourselves, or being kind when someone has not been kind to us. But every act of love is important to God. A loving heart does not just say kind things—it chooses kind actions too.

💡 Lesson

I can show the love of Jesus through the things I do every day.

🙏 Prayer

Dear God, Thank You for loving me so much. Help me not only to speak about love but to show love through my actions. Teach me to be kind, helpful, generous, and caring. Let others see Your love through the way I live. Amen.

🎨 Activity (Ages 3–6)"Love in Action" Chart

Create a chart with simple loving actions:

  • Help someone
  • Share a toy
  • Give a hug
  • Say something kind
  • Pray for someone

Place a sticker each time a loving action is completed. Say together: "I can show love through my actions!"

✏️ Reflection (Ages 7–9)

Discuss:

  1. What is the difference between saying love and showing love?
  2. How did Jesus show love through His actions?
  3. What loving actions can you do at home or school?
  4. How do people feel when we show kindness through our actions?

🕯️ Challenge (Ages 10–12)Love in Action Challenge

This week:

  • Perform one act of kindness every day
  • Help someone without being asked
  • Include someone who feels left out
  • Pray for a friend or family member

At the end of each day, ask yourself: "How did I show God's love through my actions today?"

🌿 Sit with Jesus Moment

Sit quietly and place your hands over your heart. Take a slow breath.

Now softly say: "Jesus, help me show Your love through my actions." Pause quietly for a moment.

Think about one person who may need kindness, encouragement, or help today. Ask Jesus: "Who can I show love to today?" Listen quietly and imagine Jesus filling your heart with compassion and kindness.

Rest peacefully, knowing that even small acts of love can make a big difference and help others see Jesus in you.
