Speak Life Like Jesus

“Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” — Ephesians 4:29 

🕊️ Story / Reflection

Words are powerful! They can build people up or tear them down. 

Jesus always used His words to bring life — healing the sick, comforting the sad, and speaking truth with love. When we speak kindly, encourage others, or say something that makes someone smile, we’re speaking life just like Jesus. But when we complain, insult, or say hurtful things, it brings sadness instead of joy. 

Today, let’s choose to use our words the way Jesus did to heal, bless, and inspire others. Every kind word you speak can make someone’s day brighter!

My words have power. I will choose to speak life, kindness, and encouragement like Jesus.

🙏 Prayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for showing me how to speak words of life and love.
Help me to think before I speak and to use my words to bless others.
Let everything I say bring joy and peace to those around me.

Draw a picture of you saying kind words to a friend. Write “My words can make others happy.”

✏️ Reflection (Ages 7–9):
Write down three kind things you can say to someone today — at home, school, or church.

🕯️ Challenge (Ages 10–12):
Pay attention to your words today. Each time you speak, ask yourself, “Would Jesus say this?” Choose to speak life, even when it’s hard.
