🕊️ Story / Reflection
Have you ever heard good advice but didn’t follow it, and then things didn’t go so well? That’s what James is talking about!
Listening to God’s Word is wonderful, but we grow stronger when we do what it says.
When we hear a Bible story, learn a memory verse, or listen to what our parents teach us about God, it’s like planting seeds in our hearts. But those seeds only grow when we obey what we’ve learned!
Every time you listen to God and put His Word into action by being kind, forgiving, or telling the truth, you’re growing to be more like Jesus.
💡 Lesson:
I grow in faith and wisdom when I listen to God’s Word and obey it.
🙏 Prayer:
Dear God,
Thank You for teaching me through Your Word.
Help me not only to listen but to do what You say.
Let Your truth grow in my heart every day.
Amen.
🎨 Activity (Ages 3–6):
Draw a plant growing tall in the sunshine. Write, “When I listen to God, I grow!”
✏️ Reflection (Ages 7–9):
Think of one Bible verse you’ve learned recently. How can you obey it today? Write it down and practice it.
🕯️ Challenge (Ages 10–12):
Each time you read or hear God’s Word this week, ask yourself: “How can I live this out?” Then take one small step to obey what you’ve learned.
🌸 Closing Thought:
Listening to God’s Word is the first step — living it out is how you grow! Every time you obey, your faith becomes stronger and your heart more like Jesus.
