πŸ“– Bible Verse
β€œWhatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” β€” Colossians 3:23

πŸ•ŠοΈ Story / Reflection

God wants us to do our best in everything we do.

Whether we are doing schoolwork, helping at home, learning a new skill, cleaning our room, or serving others, God is pleased when we work hard and give our best effort.

Doing our best does not mean being perfect. No one is perfect except Jesus.

Doing our best means:

  • Trying our hardest
  • Not giving up easily
  • Being diligent
  • Finishing what we start
  • Using the abilities God has given us

Sometimes we may feel tired or discouraged when things are difficult. We may want to quit when a task takes a long time or when we make mistakes. But God teaches us to keep going.

When David cared for his father's sheep, he worked faithfully.

When Joseph served in Egypt, he worked faithfully.

When Jesus lived on earth, He completed every assignment His Heavenly Father gave Him.

God sees our effort, our faithfulness, and our willingness to do our best.

Every time we work hard with the right attitude, we honour God.

πŸ’‘ Lesson

God wants me to work hard and do my best in everything I do.

πŸ™ Prayer

Dear God, Thank You for the gifts and abilities You have given me.

Help me to work hard, stay faithful, and always do my best.

When things become difficult, give me strength to keep trying.

May my work bring glory to You in Jesus' name, Amen.

🎨 Activity (Ages 3–6)"My Best Effort" Challenge

Give children a simple task such as:

  • Colouring a picture
  • Building with blocks
  • Sorting objects
  • Tidying a play area

Encourage them to complete the task carefully and joyfully. Say together: "I will do my best for God!"

✏️ Reflection (Ages 7–9)

Discuss:

  1. What does it mean to do your best?
  2. Why is working hard important?
  3. Does doing your best mean being perfect?
  4. How can you honour God through your schoolwork and chores?

πŸ•―οΈ Challenge (Ages 10–12)Do Your Best Challenge

This week:

  • Complete all assignments carefully
  • Finish tasks without complaining
  • Keep trying when something feels difficult
  • Encourage someone else to do their best

At the end of each day, ask yourself: "Did I give my best effort today?"

🌿 Sit with Jesus Moment

Sit quietly and place your hands open on your lap.

Think about something you are currently learning or working on that feels challenging.

Now softly say:"Jesus, help me work hard and do my best."

Pause quietly for a moment. Imagine Jesus standing beside you, encouraging you with a smile and reminding you not to give up.

Rest peacefully and remember that God is pleased when you faithfully use the gifts and opportunities He has given you.
